Draft Noise Exposure Map
The first phase of the Part 150 Noise Compatibility Program Update is nearing completion with the publication of the draft Noise Exposure Map. The document has been distributed to Part 150 Working Group members for their review and comments. It is expected to be finalized by June 30, 2010, when it will be submitted to the FAA for final review. The complete document addresses the 2009 and forecast 2014 noise environments in communities surrounding Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and consists of an Executive Summary, a basic technical report, and a series of technical appendices. A link to the full document is available at Draft Noise Exposure Map. Comments regarding the document may be submitted in writing under the CONTACT US tab on the home page of this web site. Comments may also be submitted verbally or in writing at the Public Workshops scheduled for June 9th and 10th, 2010.
Draft Noise Compatibility Program With the first phase of the Part 150 Update in its review period, the second phase – the evaluation of existing and new noise mitigation measures for the airport – has advanced to the point where it, too, now has a draft report summarizing the latest project findings. The document examines the effectiveness of individual elements of CLE's current Noise Compatibility Program and makes recommendations for the continuation of key existing measures as well as for a variety of new measures. This new draft report, entitled "Cleveland Hopkins International Airport Part 150 Study Noise Compatibility Program" was released to the Part 150 Working Group for its review and comment on June 2nd, 2010. It is also available to the general public in electronic form at Draft Noise Compatibility Program and in hard copy at the Airport's Engineering Building as well as at four nearby libraries. The addresses for all five locations are identified in the announcement of upcoming Public Workshops scheduled for June 9th and 10th, 2010. As with the Draft Noise Exposure Map document, comments may be submitted verbally or in writing at the Workshops and also under the CONTACT US tab on this project web site.
